And He walks with me, and He talks with me, And He tells me I am His own; And the joy we share as we tarry there, None other has ever known.
(2) He speaks, and the sound of His voice is so sweet the birds hush their singing, And the melody that He gave to me Within my heart is ringing.
(3) I'd stay in the garden with Him Though the night around me be falling, But He bids me go; through the voice of woe, His voice to me is calling.
"Blessed is the person who steals away time alone with the Savior. For that one is bound to encounter divine inspiration that will direct the course of his heart. Indeed, there is nothing greater than the quieting of this world, for in-depth moments with the soul's closest and dearest friend.
You see, Jesus not only calls us to carry our cross and die with Him, but also beckons us to walk with Him in the newness of a resurrected life. Far too many hours are spent on vanities that clamor for our attention. It is time, as the scriptures say, to take all competing thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ. For these are the sorts of the things our Lord wishes to consult with us about privately in the cool of the day.
Have you met with Him this morning? How long shall He wait to spend time with your soul? He longs to show you things that you might otherwise miss. Did you notice the drops of dew on the roses? What about the hushing of the birds with their singing? For surely we must not pass by this moment, the Jacob's Ladder of time, where the closeness of heaven is so keenly felt that melodies ring in the worshiping heart. Honestly, is there anything better on earth to tarry than with Jesus, alone? Listen, He is calling to you, "... Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away..." (Song of Solomon 2:10)
What sorts of things keep you from such sweet fellowship? What are they to you? Is it worry? Should you sojourn with worry who knows nothing but speculations? God sees your circumstances from every possible angle and already has the outcome in His sights. Friend won't you meet with Him?
Is it ambition? Ambition apart from God's leading can take you down treacherous trails. Haven't you ever wondered how you can get so far off course? Ambition drives at careless levels like a race car on a speedway. Yet, fast paced driving is always a danger and dependent on the driver. Friend, won't you meet with Him?
How about cares? There will always be things to get done, to-do's never run out. And oddly the list gets longer the harder we try because cares cant bare losing first position. Don't wait for a better time when the best time is now. Whatever it is - whatever it costs, cast all weights off that hold you back from such blessing as a private moment in the garden with Jesus. Friend, won't you meet with Him?"

(1) I come to the garden alone, While the dew is still on the roses; And the voice I hear, falling on my ear, The Son of God discloses.
